How it works
- Paste the first list on the left, one entry per line.
- Paste the second on the right.
- Choose whether to ignore case, double spaces and duplicates.
- Copy the column you need.
What it does
Two lists, three columns: only in A, in both, only in B. With the count at the head of each and a button to copy it.
It is for working out who is missing from a guest list, which addresses are already in the database, which files have been uploaded and which have not.
It gives back what you wrote
With «ignore case» on, if A has Rossi and B has rossi, «in both» shows Rossi — A’s form. Handing back the normalised version would mean handing you a list that is neither yours nor theirs.
The three options, and what they change
Ignore case. Rossi and rossi become the same entry.
Ignore double spaces. «Mario Rossi» with two spaces and «Mario Rossi» with one become the same entry. Spaces at the ends are always removed anyway: a list pasted from a spreadsheet is full of them, and nobody means «Rossi» and «Rossi » as two different people.
Remove duplicates. Off, an entry written twice shows up twice — and that is how you find it. On, it collapses, and the box says how many were removed.
Empty lines
They are always removed, and counted: a pasted list has them at the end, and saying «I ignored three» is the difference between a tool and a black box. A trailing newline does not count as an empty line, because it is a terminator and not a line.
What is not here
No saving, no shareable address, no history. And that is not an oversight: these are often lists of people or clients, and they must not end up in an address somebody pastes into a chat, nor in a key left on an internet café computer.
No fuzzy matching: «Rossi» and «Rossl» are two different entries, and a tool that quietly merged them would hide the typo instead of showing it.
